BUILDING WITH STONE - A BASIC COURSE
Learn how to build fence yards and retaining walls out of stone. This is a practical foundation course and we venture out into the landscape to study different types of stone fence yards: shell wall, single wall, half wall/retaining wall and cairn. We look at the cultivation cairns and note the differences between land that is stone-cleared and untouched, respectively. We put the stone wall in its cultural-historical context. Together we build a piece of shell wall, try safe techniques for lifting heavy stones and learn to assess the building, wise and lying side of the stone. Refreshments are included in the afternoon.

CULTIVATION COURSE
*Get on course and become a better grower! * Aug 6: LATE SUMMER CHOYS - We stop in the middle of the busy growing season and come up with tips and wise advice on what you can do right now to increase crop yields, troubleshoot misgrowth, or replenish empty spaces. We have suggestions for projects that are suitable to start right now or plan for later. From Lindegren's own kitchen garden, we pick up both good examples and some misses. Sept 6: COMPOST MORE - What is needed to succeed with your garden compost? How can compost and decomposition go from piles of leaves and weed cleaner to become a lovely part of your garden? A showy pumpkin farm for example. You will get tips on how to avoid the compost becoming too dry, wet or acidic and how you can streamline the process to get ready soil faster. Practical work outdoors in Lindegren's growing country - we plant a new lasagna compost in several layers. Oct 4: PLAN YOUR GROWING - Plan ahead for 2026 season! Advice and tips on planning, placement and design of growing areas. How do you get space with green manure, nursery stock and compost? How do you combine direct seeding with pre-cultivation for efficient use of the growing beds? Proposals and principles for different systems of crop rotation. Tips for this year's big seed order. Nov 8: GROWING GARLIC - Garlic is a perfect beginner crop while fresh and homegrown garlic is some of the tastiest there is. A bonus is that you can save it at room temperature until well into spring. You will learn how to make and get suggestions for different varieties! In the spring of 2026, we are planning for more courses on the theme: Soil, Fertilizer & Nutrition, Plant a Spice Garden and Grow on Small Area. *Date is coming! * *Course leader: * Nina Trägårdh, a biologist and former teacher in horticulture at Fristads Folkhögskola, holds the courses. About Lindegrens
Days on the Farm
Here the country breeds mountain cow and red hill, as well as sheep of different breeds graze. We stuff sausages, air dry ham and hang butter meat from beef, lamb and pig. You are welcome here for a visit to the shop, a hike in the valley or to celebrate something with work or family.
Organic Growing
Our animals keep the beautiful landscape open and contribute to biodiversity. Our operation is ecologically approved. Do not use pesticides and artificial fertilizers. In principle, only grass is used as fodder and the animals drink from the streams.
Collaborations with neighbors
Beef and pork meat in the store is usually from our own farm. So we can guarantee quality and animal welfare. Our high standards also apply when we buy animals from elsewhere. We visit every farm that rears the cattle, lambs and pigs that we then slaughter and dismember ourselves.
